The number of people using Instagram increases exponentially every day. The days of it being a simple photo-sharing app are long gone. Now one of the most popular social media — and marketing — platforms, it has over 1 billion monthly active users and 100 million posts uploaded daily.
Instagram’s main draw is its ability to share videos. Even though videos don’t receive as many likes as photos, they always get more comments.

Here’s our detailed, step-by-step guide if you’re new to Instagram and want to learn how to upload a video.

Instagram video posting options

Getting your video onto Instagram may be done in a few different ways. The process will vary significantly depending on whether the video was generated using your phone or a third-party software like Wave.video.

Publish a live video to Instagram’s feed.
When I say “in-feed” video, I mean the kind of video that appears naturally in a user’s news feed as they browse. Follow these steps to add a video to your Instagram feed.

Start by launching Instagram.

To add anything to your Instagram feed, open the app and select the plus icon in the upper right corner.
In the same way that the + symbol in the newsfeed takes you to your profile page, the profile page takes you to the “Post” option.
To begin, click the “Videos” tab.

Your phone’s music and video collection will now be shown. You may use the pull-down menu to quickly go to the video library. Select a video from your computer’s hard drive to upload.
Step 3: Pick a Video to Watch

Pick an Instagram-worthy clip right here. If the video isn’t a perfect square, you may crop it using the arrow icon. This prevents Instagram from automatically adjusting the image’s aspect ratio to a square.
Filtering is Step 4.

Instagram provides a number of editing features for your uploaded videos. You can do things like cut your video to the right length and pick a cover art.
If you wish to construct a longer video, you may also mix many segments into one. The individual video segments will be “glued” together to form a continuous one.

First, you should check out Instagram.

Videos for Instagram Stories should be uploaded directly from the Instagram app, just like regular videos for the feed. To use the app’s camera, launch it by selecting the camera icon (top left).
Step 2: Pick a video to watch

Swipe up to access your media library and choose the prepared video you wish to upload to Instagram. Changing to the “Videos” folder will make finding your clip much simpler.
Three, include emojis and stickers

The option to personalise video content with stickers, GIFs, polls, and other interactive components is what makes Instagram Stories so appealing to me. This adds a lot of drama to the video. Don’t pass up the chance to give your videos a boost!
Step Four: Disseminate to Your Audience

If you’re satisfied with the final product, send it out to your viewers. You can either do it in a way that everyone knows about it, or you can do it in a way that only your closest friends know about it. For a commercial account, it may make perfect sense to promote a video to a large audience on Instagram.

Methods for uploading videos to Instagram TV (IGTV)

Instagram has its own video platform, dubbed IGTV. Tutorials, explainer films, demonstrations, and other sorts of videos that benefit from a lengthier format can now be posted.

You need a channel on IGTV before you can post a video to the platform. Channels function similarly to traditional TV channels in that they direct viewers to your video content.

Here’s a quick rundown of the steps you need to do to upload a video to Instagram (IGTV) once you’ve set up a channel.

Tips for uploading videos to IGTV on the go

First, launch the app and tap the TV icon (which should read “IGTV”) in the top right.

By doing so, you’ll be sent to your phone’s media library, where you may select a video to upload to IGTV.

Third, give your cover some title and description.

You may use either a still from your film or a picture from your gallery as the cover photo.

Instagram now has its own YouTube-like platform called IGTV where users may upload longer-form videos.

First, log in to your account.

To upload a video to IGTV, visit your account page (at https://instagram.com/your_account_name, in my case https://instagram.com/zmirnofa) and click the “IGTV” link at the top of the page.

A video file from your PC can be uploaded here. Instagram suggests the following requirements for an IGTV clip.
3. Modify the video to your liking

Title and description fields become available when uploading a video to Instagram IGTV. A video cover (or “thumbnail”) can also be uploaded. Image dimensions should be 492 by 762 pixels.
